2024 Custom Culture Art Show

 Please visit the Anacapa Hall for the 2024 Custom Culture Art Show! Originally organized to showcase the work of Easyriders magazine artist David Mann after his passing, the Chopper Fest Art & Culture Show has evolved into an indoor, multimedia art exhibit focused on up-and-coming and established artists that work in the genre of motorcycle, hot rod, and low brow art.

Artists come from all over the country to pay tribute to the Norman Rockwell of the biker world, and to meet like-minded artists, industry professionals, and art patrons looking for something "off the beaten path". Artists are encouraged to create David Mann tribute art, be on-site to promote their art, and do some "live painting". Artwork is displayed on fencing and tables supplied by Chopper Fest.

The 20th Anniversary David Mann Chopperfest will be held on Sunday, February 11th, 2024, at the Ventura County Fairgrounds in Ventura CA from 8am-4pm.

The Event Features: A very special David Mann and Friends Motorcycle Art Exhibit, an All-Brand Antique and Custom Motorcycle Show; Custom Bike Builder Displays featuring World Class Bike Builders; Hundreds of Motorcycle/Culture Vendors; a New and Used Motorcycle Parts Swap Meet; Live Rock and Blues Bands, Food and Beer. General Admission is $20, Presale $15 (Includes event poster), Military with ID $10, and kids 12 & under are free. Note: No Colors, No Pets, No Outside Alcohol.

The "If you build it they will come" All Brand Motorcycle Show will feature 22 classes of motorcycles from Antique and Old School to Special Construction and Radical Design classes. Check out the Bike Show link for more details on all the classes and entering your motorcycle(s). If you have a bike that fits one of these classes please enter it, it's only $40 and you get 1 admission and a David Mann Chopperfest event t-shirt. The trophies are amazing one-of-a-kind pieces of art. It's going to be another fun-filled day for the whole family with all sorts of cool stuff on 2 wheels. We hope to see you there!

Unfortunately, due to COVID, the Ventura County Fairgrounds and the City of Ventura have decided to halt all events with no end in sight. We feel strongly that things will be back to normal next year, so mark your calendar for December 12th, 2021. Take this extra time to get inspired and create your favorite Dave Mann style Chopper/Painting so we can showcase your work next year.

The Custom Culture Art Show is moving to the Anacapa Hall

Due to the overwhelming response from the Custom Culture Art Show featured artists we've outgrown the McBride Hall and are now planning on setting up in the Anacapa Hall. We're also showcasing the Biltwell Helmet Show in that area. All proceeds raised in the Biltwell Helmet Show will benefit featured artist Cathy Mejia and her one and only Cheet to help with ongoing medical expenses from a recent motorcycle accident. The Anacapa Hall is located by the food court. Project Safer's booth and Justin's Thomas Fire Bike Raffle will be parked by the front door. Thank you for your support!

Nicole Andrijauskas is completing her tank for the David Mann and Friends Art Show.

About the artist: Nicole Andrijauskas is a painter whose practice concentrates on the juxtaposition of machines or tools with familiar icons, often using a background palette based on primary colors. Her work revolves around the impulsivity of pop culture and politics. She received her BA in Painting & Textiles from San Francisco State University in 2006, and taught mural painting throughout the public school system there. In 2012, she received her teaching credential to expand on her artistic endeavors with young students. Nicole has exhibited work in numerous Bay Area galleries, Vancouver, Columbus, and Portland. She currently lives and works in Portland, OR.

The McBride Hall is about to be taken over by some of the best artists in the industry for the 14th David Mann and Friends Custom Culture Art Show. We'd like to thank the people above for helping us create a unique space. Each piece of art will introduce you to the artist as well as pay homage to our dear friend David Mann. Expect to see original works of art from David Mann and speak one-on-one with featured artists on location. Our thoughts and prayers go out to artist and friend Cathy Mejia and her husband, Steve. They were involved in a motorcycle accident over the weekend and are currently in the hospital. We wish you a quick recovery @artgirlcathy and @cheetburner.

Artist profile: Joel Meyer-England of 845 Motocycles

Please take a moment to get to know artist Joel Meyer- England.

"Having spent much of my 20’s riding and customizing motorcycles I taught myself how to paint via the internet so that I could paint my own bikes as well as my close friend’s bikes. When I left the motion picture industry in my late 20’s I started painting more bikes for my friends. Through Instagram I had people reach out to me asking if I could paint their bikes. This snowballed into my full-time job shortly thereafter."

"While painting on my porch in Santa Monica I soon realized that I needed more space and a real paint booth so I moved my family out to the Joshua Tree area where I now have a 2.5-acre compound complete with a proper paint booth. I take much inspiration from the chopper paint of the 70’s as well as the coloring of traditional tattoo work."

"When I first moved to California back in 2004 I lived in Ventura for 4 years so it’s exciting to be a part of this show that takes places back in my old haunt. I am especially excited since David Mann has been a big inspiration to me in my work. His attention to detail in the amazing choppers he came up with and the radical paint on those bikes have been and continue to influence my work every day as I strive to come up with interesting and cool paint work."

"I am truly honored to be a part of such a special event alongside so many other truly amazing artists. I have looked up to the artwork I have seen at the event in past years and always dreamt that I might get to be a part of the art show so this is truly a dream come true."

"I started to think how I could give back to the community that has welcomed me with open arms so I reached out to event promoter, Tory DuVarney. He asked me to create a custom gas tank using a classic Dave Mann painting as the reference. Tory requested that the proceeds go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project, a charity that is near and dear to the Chopperfest family. I'll be recreating the tank (seen below) using a Throttle Addiction narrow wassell style tank painted with Painthuffer Monochromatic Purple Metalflake and House of Kolor Kandy."

"I am very excited to be able to give back to the men and women who have served in our military. You can watch the progress through my Instagram profile and tickets are currently available for purchase. $20.00 for a single ticket or $100.00 for 6. You don't need to be on location to win but your attendance is appreciated. We'll announce the winner during the award ceremony."

"Growing up through the late 60's, 70's I would spend time on and around my Dad's motorbikes. Specifically riding on his Panhead tanks and often in the sidecar. Images of David Mann's art was always around, in the magazines, on the walls of Dad's garage or his buddies."

"I grew up around motorbikes and tattoos. As a result of this, after art college I painted motorbikes and then began tattooing. I opened Slingin' Ink Tattoos in 1994 and still own and operate it today. I spend my days tattooing at Ten Six Tattoo in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and my evenings painting motorbikes, fine art painting, pinstriping, sign painting and illustration. Almost all of my art is motorbike and hot rod related."
