Established in 1967 by Jim Thiessen, JIMS® Machining (JIMS®) has been manufacturing precision performance products for use on Harley-Davidson® motorcycles for over 45 years now! From humble beginnings in 1967, JIMS® has grown into one of the industry leaders producing performance parts, accessories, tools, transmissions, and high-performance engines all aimed at enhancing the Harley rider’s experience. Originally, Jim Thiessen worked as a machinist with the aerospace industry. As bikes were brought to the shop in the early days for repairs and mechanical problems, customers would come to Jim looking for hard to find parts, or higher quality American made parts. In the mid to late 70’s Jim committed 100% to V-Twin Motorcycles. Developing parts & processes is his expertise, so naturally he developed a reputation for precision machining in the motorcycle industry. Starting with just a few manual mills & lathes, JIMS now occupies several buildings totaling 50,000 square feet filled with CNC machines.

STEADY ROLL TAPPETS
It is no secret to us at JIMS® (and to top engine builders) that
performance V-Twin engines require more valve lift than stock designs. This
increases the load on the tappet roller, which can lead to failure. Tappet
roller failure is a catastrophic and expensive failure. Broken needle rollers
allow the tappet roller to deform, causing cam lobe damage. Pieces of the hard
rollers, as well as debris from the cam can easily contaminate other parts,
such as cam plates, bearings, oil pumps, and other tappets ultimately resulting
in a complete rebuild. To remedy this, we have replaced the needle rollers with
a special bronze alloy bushing, resulting in increased reliability and
longevity.
No longer do you need to worry about needle rollers and debris
damaging the engine in the event of a failure. In addition to this, JIMS has
invested in new machinery that controls the hydraulic unit fitment tolerance
within .00015”. This new failsafe design means that, even if the bushing wears
out, it will be retained in the tappet assembly. The new Powerglide Steady Roll
Tappets are available for use on all Twin Cams, Sportster 2000-present,
and Buell 2000-present (except 1125R.) For more details see No.

Forceflow Cylinder Head Cooler
Introducing the new patent pending JIMS ForceFlow Cylinder Head
Cooler. Whether you are running a big inch performance engine or rolling stock
in traffic on a hot summer day, your air cooled engine will heat up. Excessive
heat and operating temperature can be an engines worst enemy. The patent
pending JIMS ForceFlow literally forces the heat away from your engine by pushing high
velocity air through the cylinder fin pack in a wide flow pattern, directed at
the head gasket surface. Powered by a cooling fan that was designed to cool
brakes in NASCAR, the JIMS ForceFlow can lower head temperatures up to 100
degrees! The ForceFlow can either be activated by a thermostat (included), or
wired for a manual off switch. This unique design also relocates the horn
inside the ForceFlow’s streamlined housing, and gives the horn mount or “left
side” of the bike a much needed new look. The ForceFlow comes with all
necessary hardware and wiring, and is available in Black or Silver for $420.00
MSRP, or Polished for $450.00 MSRP and coming soon in Chrome.
