Grand Prize Chopperfest Quilt Presentation

Words by Big Dave Hansen

Grand Prize Chopperfest Quilt presentation to Rosie Steele pictured here with Tammy Hansen

Rosie and Mike Steele won the Chopperfest 10 quilt but not without riding a rough road first. The Steele's purchased their tickets in advance, fully expecting to attend on December 8th. In the days just prior to the event, Mike Steele suffered a heart attack and is currently hospitalized in San Francisco. Mike's wife Rosie accepted the Grand Prize Quilt from it's maker, Tammy Hansen, and plans to take it home and put it on their bed for Mike's homecoming later this week.

Bones Kenyon of The American Legion Riders Post 50 with Big Dave and Tammy Hansen

Bones Kenyon accepted the check for $1000 from Big Dave and Tammy Hansen on behalf of American Legion Post 50 where it will be used for Veteran's charities including their Homeless Veteran fund and the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Hansen's would like to thank Chopperfest and their Directors for their efforts in making the Quilt Raffle possible.
Well Done Biker Nation!

And the winners are.........................

From Tory DuVarney - Event Coordinator

This year marked the 10th Anniversary of the David Mann Chopperfest so we wanted to create an event that really celebrated the life of David Mann. With the help of over 60 artists we created an art show that was the best I have seen. There was so much talent and so many different mediums used, the buzz in that room was electric. To top it off Jacquie Mann and family were in the foyer greeting everyone as they walked in. The Bike Show had an incredible turnout of bikes, the judges always have their work cut out because everyone of those bike is deserving in my opinion. It was a very special day filled with lots of love and appreciation for people and their talents. Its an honor and privilege for me to be the event organizer. Its the artists and builders who make the show so great. If you build it they will come!

2014 Bike Build Update - Thanks Biltwell Inc.

We started cross promoting with Biltwell Inc. for this year's trophies, as seen here, http://chopperfest.blogspot.com/2013/09/this-years-trophies-from-biltwell-inc.html.

Biltwell is a great company that believes quality counts! They have a great parts line that's top shelf, yet affordable for the everyday motorcycle enthusiast. When we let them know what we had going on they opened the door to their warehouse and stated "what do you need?". Well we could of taken one of everything and been about 70% done but Tory's vision is to have many brands involved so we graciously accepted the following.....

 DYI Exhaust Kit

Stainless Steel Seat Hinge - polished

 Slimline Risers - polished

Whiskey Throttle 1" Dual - Polished

Big thanks to the wonderful staff at Biltwell Inc for the generous donation! Check out their website http://www.biltwellinc.com/ and give them a follow on Facebook and Instagram. Biltwell will be on location on Sunday, do yourself a favor and visit their booth, you'll be glad you did!

2014 Bike Build Update - Thanks Spitfire Motorcycles!

Paul Cavillo with Spitfire Motorcycles has graciously offered his signature Grider front end. The Spitfire Girder front end is made from pure American Steel, in his shop, located in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. All of the components are precision CNC machined from billet steel bar stock. They use DOM seamless tubing for the front legs, and triple plate it to perfection. Comes complete with steering stop, and 3/4" axle.

We would like to thank Paul for helping us with the front end. Please visit his website, http://www.spitfiremotorcycles.com/ and give him a follow on Instagram http://instagram.com/spitfiremoto

We will have this frame and the rest of the donated parts on display on Sunday. Paul will also be set up so be sure to check out his parts line for your next build or upgrade!

2014 Bike Build Update - Thank you Ride Wright Wheels

Sam with Ride Wright Wheels didn't hesitate to join the build. He graciously donated these beautiful wheels - front 21 x2.15 spool hub  and rear 16 x 3.5 rear . 40 spokes steel rims tubeless, rear aluminum billet chrome hubs and stainless steel 304 spokes and nipples.

Big thanks to Sam and the fine staff at Ride Wright Wheels. Please check out the website,http://www.ridewrightwheels.com/  and give them a follow on Instagram http://instagram.com/ridewrightwheels.

Introducing the 2014 Chopperfest Bike Build

With this year representing the 10th Annual David Mann Chopperfest, Tory wanted to make it special. He started talking early on to some of the sponsors and vendors about the possibility of creating a bike. This bike will be used as a cross promotion, with the proceeds going to a great cause yet to be determined. Time wasn't on our side this so Tory has decided to feature the bike promotion next year. We are in the process of acquiring the needed material to bring this motorcycle to life. We will introduce you to every business that has come aboard to make this endevour possible

The first person to commit to the build was Anthony Keeling of Chassis Design Company. Anthony has created a 160 LSD Wishbone Rigid Frame, using 1' 188 wall tubing for the project. This frame, like the rest of the CDC parts line is created in house. His business is located in Riverside, Ca.

Anthony just sent us a photo of the finished frame and he totally outdid himself. We appreciate his support to the build and his kind donation. Please check out his website and follow him on Instagram

Thanks ANTHONY!

We will have this frame and the rest of the donated parts on display on Sunday. Anthony will also be set up so be sure to check out his parts line for your next build or upgrade!
